At 357 mph, French’s TGV V150 (read: 150 meters or more per second) is currently the fastest train in the world beating the infamous japanese’s bullet train – shinkansen and the Shanghai’s Maglev Transrapid trains.
1. Shinkansen 300 and 700 Series
2. Transrapid’s Maglev Train

3. TGV V150.
I’m sorry to disappoint you, but it is not the fastest train in the world. On the Yamanashi Maglev Test Line in Japan, the fastest train in the world made the record on the 2nd of December 2003 with a speed of 581 km/h (361.0166 mph). There is currently a test track being built between Geneva and Lausanne in partial vacuum, which has the potential to reach 800 km/h in a Maglev tunnel.
What the French did not mention was the dizziness and the tiredness one experienced due to the small vibrations. From about 380 kph, vibrations in the train became more and more noticeable. At 490 kph passengers started to get slightly dizzy. At 540 kph it became difficult to remain standing up despite the stability of the train. This would never happen on Maglev train, as there are no parts that cause vibrations.
